OR Association promotes a new research project
Garrahan Pediatric Hospital, a leading oncology hospital in Buenos Aires (Argentina), signs a collaboration agreement with the OR Association to activate a new immunological study with children and children affected by Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, in close collaboration with the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital of Barcelona.
With the aim of improving the diagnosis and treatment of the pediatric-juvenile patient diagnosed with this oncological disease, OR Association promotes a new research project, with the funding of € 10,000, which brings together Spanish and Argentine doctors and researchers, in the search for new medical advances that allow shared knowledge.
An intercontinental project, which reflects the importance of joint collaboration between doctors and scientific researchers specializing in Histiocytosis, to obtain significant results on both sides of the Atlantic. Fernando Gotz, president of the OR Association is convinced that, “with the launch of this study, from OR Association we take another step in the search for solutions for the cure of Histiocytosis through scientific research.”
Dr. Guillermo Chantada, coordinator of Precision Medicine at Garrahan Hospital, leads this study that will be carried out throughout 2020 on both sides of the Atlantic. Dr. Jorge Braier, international expert in Histiocytosis of Langerhans Cells, and Dr. Diego Rosso, head of pediatrics at the “José de San Martín” Clinic Hospital (Argentina) and specialist in Histiocytosis will join the study’s collaboration and will be consulted per there expertise.
This agreement stems from the relationship that OR Asociación maintains with the Natalí Dafne Flexer Foundation, an Argentine organization with 25 years of experience, whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children suffering from cancer, which has co-managed with us the realization of This pioneering project.
The signing of this agreement represents the second research project funded by the OR Association, since 2014, in addition to the Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis grant that is carried out at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona.
